Gunpowder Tea, also known as ‘pearl tea’ in China, is a type of green tea with leaves rolled into small hard pellets reminiscent of gunpowder. This gave birth to the name of the tea. When steeped in water, the pellets start unfolding. The end result is a dark green tea of powerful, rich and gunpowder-strong flavor. Gunpowder Tea is strong and should be used in moderation. This tea is an excellent wake up drink and a replacement for a cup of morning coffee.
