Dramatically black Hawaiian lava sea salt is sea salt harvested from the Pacific Ocean and naturally vaporized in the sun. Its black color comes from the added activated charcoal derived from burnt coconut shells.
Black salt is perfect for adding flavor to dishes at the end of the cooking process. Of course, this salt can also be used in regular cooking and boiling but it might five a slightly greyish tint to the dishes.
