Pai Mu Tan white tea is made of the softest and youngest leaves and minimally processed to indulge the tastebuds of subtle tea lovers. White tea leaves are gathered by hand whilst they are not totally in bloom and the buds are covered in silver fuzz. Picked leaves are scattered on bamboo grates. They are first dried naturally and later on carefully dried under low temperatures. The drying process gives the silver fuzz its white shade, which is the origins of the name of the white tea, which means ‘White Peony’ in Chinese.
To make Pai Mu Tan tea, the first two leaves and one unfolded bud is taken from each bush. This gives the tea its mild and refreshing fruit flavor. Pai Mu Tan tea can be enjoyed at any time of the day.
