Mate tea is a national drink in many countries of South America. The name of this tea originates from the word ‘mati’, which means ‘pumpkin’ in the language of the Guaranis, the indigenous people of South America.
Mate is an exotic kind of tea, made even more so special by its brewing tools: a gourd for tea boiling, kalabasa for tea drinking (carved from pumpkin, wood or metal) and bombilla, the straw used to drink the tea, traditionally made of silver.
Mate is recommended for people who are under constant stress, unable to focus and engaged in active mental work. Mate tea energizes quickly and helps to maintain energy at stable levels for long periods of time, without impeding one’s sleep even when enjoyed in the evening.
