The word ‘khari’ originates in south India and means a hot and thick sauce. The main ingredient of curry is turmeric root, which must comprise no less than 25% of all the spice mix. While the turmeric root has no powerful taste, it does have an intense and rich flavor which is best revealed when mixed with other spices. The ingredients of curry vary, depending on the producer and the location. Thai curry, also known as the red curry, is one of the most popular types of curry. Traditionally, this curry is hotter than Indian curry as it contains hot chili peppers. In Thailand, red curry is usually served in the form of pasta.
Thai Curry seasoning mix can be easily made into curry sauce. All you need to do is mix the required amount of the seasoning mix with some water and a teaspoon of olive oil. If you are making traditional Thai curry paste, use fish broth instead of water.
Our Thai curry is not hot as the majority of the seasoning mix is comprised of bell pepper. The seasoning mix differs greatly from the classic Indian curry by its taste and flavor. It is much milder and less intense, having lost the specific bitterness inherent to the Indian curry.
Thai Curry can be used to season fish, meat, poultry, vegetable dishes, stews, rice and sauces.
